Instagram_hashtags_for_photographers

When it comes to photography, one of the best social media platforms that appreciate this art form is Instagram. Because Instagram is a completely visual platform, it is one of the best ways to showcase your talent and reel in more audience. But, with the growing popularity of this platform and the tendency of regurgitation taking a backseat, photographers need to come up with more creative ways to make their content rank.

One of the easiest yet trickiest ways is to use hashtags. It doesn’t necessarily matter what form of photography you are into, you will likely come across something that suits your picture. But, choosing the correct Instagram hashtags for photographers can be a tough nut to crack. If you think that adding hashtags like “like for like” and “follow for follow” is going to help, well, it won’t.

Thus, we have curated a list of the top photography types and the kind of Instagram hashtags that can be used for them to garner better visibility on the platform. Read below to learn abotu the best Instagram hashtags for photographers.

How to choose the correct hashtag?

Before we talk about the actual hashtags that will drive more traction to your IG profile, we must break down the process of choosing the correct hashtags. To be honest, people tend to have misconceptions about the same.

When selecting a hashtag, much like keywords for SEO, you want to pick ones that have low competition but high search volume. What we mean to say is, it is always advisable to pick the hashtags that have around 100k posts. If you pick the generic keywords like “photography”, it is likely going to have millions of posts, so popping up on people’s feed can be tough.

On the contrary, when you do use the hashtags that have lesser posts under them and are unique, it makes it easier for your posts to get noticed.

So, while selecting a hashtag for your post, you need to ensure that you pick the ones that have lesser posts and are kind of unique.

Best Instagram hashtags for Photographers

Now that we know which kinds of hashtags to pick, it is time we share some of the best ones with you. For your convenience, we have categorised them based off the type of photography.

This will make it easier for you to scroll down and check out the one that you think suits your style the best.

The “Generic” ones

The first and the easiest ones that you need to know of are the generic photography hashtags. Remember that these are not suited for a specific category of photography, so you can use it randomly. The only catch here is to use them sparsely in your post.

If you are wondering why, it is because of their high competition rate.

Since they are so generic, likely, majority of the people who have no idea about proper Instagram marketing are using it. Ranking on these hashtags can be very tough. So, using these hashtags can help enhance your outreach and visibility but ensure to not just rely on them.

Use these sparingly all over the post and add more of the relevant hashtags along with it.

Some of the hashtags include:

  • #InstaGood
  • #JustGoShoot
  • #PhotoOfTheDay
  • #PhotoGram
  • #Photoshop

  • #PicOfTheDay
  • #Capture

Things you should avoid doing using Instagram hashtags

When you are a photographer trying to gain visibility for your pictures on Instagram, it goes without saying that hashtags play a crucial role in this. In such cases, there are some important things that you need to avoid doing.

Some of them include:

  • Avoid using irrelevant hashtags as they don’t bring in recurring audience
  • Avoid using bigger hashtags which are very common as they have a lot of common posts and makes it harder for your picture to rank
  • Avoid stuffing tons of hashtags in all post instead of focusing on a good captain
  • Avoid putting the hashtag in the comments because that reduces the chances of visibility

Before you go

Instagram runs on hashtags. You must use relevant hashtags for your pictures because that is what brings the right audience to your page. It is easy for you to reach several people but if you don’t use it the right way, it is likely going to be in vain. You might gain 100 likes the first time but those are not your recurring audience. To grow on Instagram, you want people to follow you and become recurring audiences. That is what makes all the difference. And, the only way to make that happen is by using the correct hashtags. Remember to stay up to date and continue to run your own research to see what are the most beneficial hashtags for photographers in your industry.

Any hashtags you think we may have missed? Or do you have a certain niche you would like some hashtag ideas on?

How To Add Text Above & Below Your Videos

How To Add Text Above & Below Your Videos

letterbox_video
You may have noticed videos online by popular channels such as Gary Vee and Rick Shiels, that include text above and below their videos. Also known as ‘letterbox videos’.

There is a reason these accounts put this text on their videos. It is no secret that these convert much higher than ordinary videos.

Why is this the case?

Many times when users are scrolling through their newsfeeds, audio on videos is silent.
As you have a minimal amount of time to grab their attention, a video isn’t going to drag them in.
That’s why adding text to your videos gives them a chance to see exactly what your video is about and why they should watch.
Limiting the text to nice and short sentences also helps. No one wants to sit there and read an essay or have a video covered in the text. Remember to keep it short and simple!

How do you do it?

There are a few different methods you can use to add text to your videos.
You can use video editor programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro. Although, not everyone has access to these kinds of expensive programs.

There are online tools that can do the job for you as well. Such as Typito, which is a similar tool to Canva except for video. It is also a much cheaper option as their starter packages are $29 per month.
You can always run a test and promote one of your posts with no text and black ‘letterbox borders’. Then run another test of a standard video and see which performs best.
This will give you a great sign of what works best for your target audience and what they engage with most.

Creative Instagram Story Ideas For Businesses

creative_instagram_story_ideas_for_businesses
With over 1 billion active users, Instagram is clearly one of the top platforms for
businesses. Not to forget, the platform helps businesses by providing them with many useful
marketing tools.
One of the great things about Instagram is that it offers plenty of creative features to
use. Out of all the good ones, Instagram stories is the newest concept. Since the time
Instagram has introduced this new feature, brands and individuals are using the feature
in different ways. Today, in this post, we will suggest you some of the best
useful Instagram story ideas for businesses that will help you engage your followers.

What is Instagram Story?

Instagram story is one of the most popular features introduced by the platform. It can capture videos and picture content in a slideshow format. The specialty of the Instagram story is that it’s a temporary post and will last only for 24 hours. This feature is like a Facebook story, WhatsApp story, and others.

Instagram Story Ideas For Your Business

Now that you know what Instagram story is, let’s check out some of the coolest ways to
use these features. As a part of your brand promotion, you can use this feature to engage
your audience and trigger their interest.

Here are some creative ideas you can apply:

1. Create a GIF sticker for your brand

instagram_story_ideas
These days GIFs are trending and also serve as a great option to promote your business.
The advantage of using GIFs is that they are more engaging than a still picture.
Instagram itself provides you with dozens of static and moving stickers. But you can
design your add own GIF stickers and add them too. This adds a unique touch to your
story. With the help of GIF stories, you can get get the attention of the audience.
You can create branded slogans, products and logos as GIFs to upload them on your
Instagram stories. GIFs are easy to design and also very effective.

2. Answer questions

instagram_questions
Instagram also gives you the option to ask questions on your stories. This can be a great
way to interact with your customers. You can ask them brand-related questions to know
about their opinion. This can be a short survey for your brand.
Yet, you should try to make the question/answer stories as interesting as possible. What
we mean is that the questions should be interesting enough to be answered.

3. Create story polls

This is one of the best marketing strategies you can use on Instagram. It is alike creating questions for your Instagram story but in the poll format. You can use story
polls to gather valuable customer feedback.
As you already know Instagram stories stay online only for 24 hours, after which it
disappears. So, you need to make sure that your polls are interesting as well as
creative. This will help you engage more customers.
You can create different polls depending on your type of business. For example, if you
run a chocolate factory. You can ask your customers whether they like milk chocolate or
dark chocolate. This will help you know what the majority likes.

4. Go for a reaction slider

There is this option called the reaction slider offered by Instagram. You can use this to
see customer reactions. Let’s say you have uploaded a picture of your product. Add the
reaction slider to the image. The customers viewing your story will give their reaction.
This will help you know how the product is received by the audience.
You can use this feature for any new product that you have just launched. You can get to
know whether the product is a hit or not. This is an example. You can use the reaction
slider in many other ways.
All you have to do is get creative. Instagram stories are temporary posts, so you
need to make it as engaging as you can. The more viewer’s reaction you get, the better it
is for you.

5. Upload how-to videos

How-to videos are very much in trend these days. You can create short how-to videos
for your products. This way you can teach your viewers how to use the product. This
again can be for something new that you have launched.

Yet, you need to make sure that the videos are short and engaging. Instagram
stories are only a few seconds long. You need to keep all this in mind while creating
such videos.
You can also upload tips and video tutorials related to your products. Since Instagram
stories don’t last for long, you can then add them to your highlights. This will allow your
viewers to go to your brand page and check the highlights, even after the story has
disappeared.

6. Create entertaining boomerangs

Boomerangs are one of the coolest features offered by Instagram. You can make creative
boomerangs related to your business and products to engage the audience.
With the help of boomerangs, you can tell exciting stories in seconds. This is a very
effective way to trigger the interest of your audience. Boomerangs are not only fun but
also very engaging. Many brands already use boomerangs in their stories. If you want to
stay ahead of them, then you should try it too.
You can check out the boomerangs created by your rival companies to get ideas. One
thing you can do is take a few relevant pictures and stitch them in a loop and upload it
as a boomerang story. You can post many boomerangs at once.
Instagram is one of the most powerful marketing platforms for businesses. The platform
provides you with tons of creative features to use. All you have to do is get creative. You
can imply the Instagram story ideas mentioned here and even come up with your ideas
as well. It’s a great way of promoting your business. If you are not using this feature,
then you are missing out on great opportunities.

Dalgana Coffee – Viral Trend Of The Week

Dalgana Coffee – Viral Trend Of The Week

dalgana_coffee

If you have an Instagram account and have logged in the last week, there is a good chance you would of seen a whipped coffee.. either that or a coronavirus meme.

Either way, there is a big coffee trend going on at the moment and that is the Dalgana coffee, also known as a whipped coffee. It kind of just looks like the poo emoji on top of a glass of milk, but does it taste any good?

We made one in the office and surprisingly it actually does!
Does it taste any different to a normal iced coffee? Not really tbh but it’s all about the looks and trends amiright?

Check it out for yourself, simply search the hashtag #dalganacoffee or #whippedcoffee and you will see hundreds of images of the trending drink.

whipped_coffee

Where did it come from?

Well according to Wikipedia ‘The beverage’s origins can be traced to the Indian subcontinent, where it is called phenti hui (Hindi) / fetano (Bengali) (“beaten coffee”, “whipped coffee”), and has long been popular there before going viral on social media.’

Where it is now known on social media as the coffee of quarantine.

How do you make it?

Well, it’s actually pretty damn easy!

All it is made up of is three simple ingredients that you’ve probably already got in the cupboard.
Simply add two tablespoons of instant coffee, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of boiling water.

Now we get it, 2 tablespoons of sugar is a lot, so feel free to use less. We just found the sugar helped make the whipped coffee stay ‘whipped’ longer. I dunno, make up your own decision on this one. If you use that much sugar and that much coffee, expect to be bouncing off the walls by your 4 PM Zoom meeting with your manager.

Alright.. once you’ve got all the ingredients in the bowl, get a mixer and mix that bad boy up. You can do it by hand, but you’ll probably end up looking like the Rock by the time you’re done because this thing takes a serious mixin’.
You’ll notice after a while it starts to look like peanut butter? It gets extra whippy and is ready to go.

Now throw some ice in a glass, pour some milk in and chuck your whippy whip on top.

And BAM! You’ve got yourself a Dalgana!

Are Presents a Worthwhile Investment?

Are Presents a Worthwhile Investment?

When looking at some of the most popular Instagram feeds, you’ll notice they all have one thing in common. All their pictures look vaguely similar and their colour undertones are consistent.

That’s not a coincidence or an example of their photo editing expertise. It is because they use presets.

The times, when you could snap a picture and it was enough to apply one of the pre-installed Instagram filters before uploading it, are long gone.

The use of presets has changed the Instagram game and allowed people to obtain a particular look for their feed.

Does investing in an editing preset seem like too much? And are you feeling overwhelmed by the amount of presets available? Are they easy to use?

And most importantly, are they a worthwhile investment?

Why Should You Care?

With more than 500 million active users logging into Instagram every single day, it is one of the most influential social media platforms out there. Businesses are investing in developing their social marketing campaigns and hiring photographers to shoot content for them.

Learning all the tricks and secrets behind this powerful platform must be worthwhile. And presets are one of the tools that can help your Instagram account stand out and develop your brand.

What Are Presets?

Presents are custom filters that are applied usually using Abobe Lightroom. Each preset has a list of settings that are customised in a way to create a similar “look” for all the pictures.

This means that with presets, you no longer need to manually edit each photo and all your desired settings are applied within a click of a button.

The presets can significantly streamline your workflow and make your Instagram pictures look like they’ve been professionally edited.

Intrigued? Read on.

Are They Free?

It is true that the Lightroom app comes with a set of basic preinstalled presets that enhance your pictures and makes the colours more vivid.

But if you’re looking for the ones that will give your photos a more unique look, these are custom developed and need to be purchased.

For long, this was an area occupied by photographers and professional photo editors. But since Lightroom launched their long-awaited mobile app, this caused a massive boom of the popularity of presets and made them much more accessible to the public.

How Does It Work?

Now, transforming your pictures with purchased presets is easy. Once you have the app downloaded to your phone and install the purchased presets, simply import the image from your gallery and then apply the preset with a click of a button.

Additionally, you can do little tweaks depending on the photo and change the basic settings like contrast or brightness. From there, you export the picture into your gallery and it is ready to use.

Nowadays, not only can you buy presets from your favourite photographer, but many influencers and bloggers have also developed their own packs.

Are They Worth It?

Presets are one of the most useful tools that can transform the look of your feed. They make your page stand out and develop a specific style that others will associate with your brand.

Look at presets as a form of investment. As much as paying for a set of filters might seem like an unnecessary expense, you only need to purchase them once and you can use them on your profile forever.

While buying a set of presets for $50 may seem expensive, from a business perspective, it is a small investment given the benefits.

via Instagram

Choosing the Right Presets

The question is not whether to buy a preset but which one to buy. With their rising popularity, there are now thousands of them available on the market.

And while there are some good ones, there are also many bad presets out there. If you have a favourite Instagrammer who also sells presets, be careful.

The fact that you like the edited pictures doesn’t mean that you’ll like the presets too. Some presets don’t cover all the changes that the photographer makes and they require a lot of editing afterwards.

Not to mention that not all presets work on all kinds of photos. As soon as you start doing your own research, you’ll soon find out that different ones are recommended for different accounts.

This is because each preset produces an effect that can dramatically change the mood, the vibe and the impact of your picture. Same presets that are recommended for travel pages won’t work for food blogs, same as beach pictures need different editing than the mountain ones.

Influencer’s Presets

Many influencers are generating a passive income by selling their own presets. It’s easy to convince their followers to buy them with a promise that their pictures will look like the ones of the influencer (which they already love). Hence, presets serve as an extension of their own brand used across the whole Instagram platform.

Before you buy presets from your favourite influencer though, think about whether your content would work with their style. Many encourage others to use their custom hashtag for the photos edited with their presets.

Checking how the same presets work on other “ordinary” pictures created by other people is a great way of making sure these would work for you. Additionally, some influencers offer to give you a preview of your own picture when edited with a preset that you want to buy from them.

The Verdict

Times, when it was enough to run your picture through a “Valencia” Instagram filter and hit publish, are long gone. With so much competition to make your Instagram feed stand out, presets are a great way of achieving it without the need for a professional editing course.

Using presets will give your page a consistent look and is a way of taking your Instagram to the next level all with saving you time on editing and streamlining your workflow. With these results, paying for presets is not such a big investment.

A more crucial question, however, is buying the right presets that would suit your brand and feed. Before buying a preset pack from your favourite influencer look at how their presets work on pictures uploaded from other people.

Content ideas for a cafe.

Content ideas for a cafe.

Struggling to come up with content ideas for your cafe?I mean there’s only so many times you can post photos of food? Amiright?
Below are some of the content ideas that cafes have you used to help grow their business that step further and break away from the ever repetitive food photos that can become tiresome and stagnant your business.

Behind the scenes

Why not show the chefs making the food? The baristas making the coffee? Simple behind the scenes clips and photos help to build interest in the business and allow your customers to meet the staff. This opens up a whole new area of content that will get you creating months worth of content with the click of your finger!

Show the scenery

Walk your followers through your business. Show the back of the house, show your signage, show what’s in the area. Show them your suppliers, build a story, build a brand, not just a boring business that posts about what they sell 24/7. Users don’t go to Instagram to be sold to 24/7. Once you remember that, you’ll start building a page people want to follow and engage with.

Introduce your staff

Similar to behind the scenes, do little interviews with your staff. Talk about their background, where they are from. How long they have been at the business. Make it interesting, their favourite sport, who they go for in the football. Why they love working at your business.

Quotes and Funny Jokes

Don’t be afraid to break it up. Post funny jokes, quotes about your business, your industry, business in general. Humour is a great way to not always show your business side and show to your customers that you’re human. This helps to build a relationship and get repeat customers through the door.
