Facebook To Launch Gaming App
Facebook is set to launch a new gaming app from tomorrow. (21/4/20 AEST)
The app will be free to download and only compatible with Android devices for the moment. With an iOS rollout expected shortly.
The app is set to be a comepetitor to websites such as Twitch. This shows the interest Facebook is taking into the game space, which is rapidly growing day by day.
Online gaming can be quite PC based, or through devices like Playstation and Xbox.
With Facebook launching the mobile app, this is expected to make the process much easier and to speed up the process of sharing their gameplay with users.
Facebook gaming has been tested in South East Asia and Latin America over the last 18 months. With the launch originally expected for June, it seems as good as time as ever to rollout the service with most of their audience in lockdown due to COVID-19 restrictions.
